AdvaMed Celebrating 50 Years

AdvaMed, the MedTech Association, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025. For five decades, AdvaMed has championed innovation, policy, and advocacy on behalf of the medical technology industry—helping companies deliver lifesaving and life-enhancing technologies to patients worldwide.

This year, the celebration culminates at the MedTech Conference (MTC25) in San Diego, October 5–8, where global leaders will gather to shape the future of health care innovation.

Medmarc Insurance is part of this history, having been founded in 1979 by 31 members of the Health Industry Manufacturers Association (HIMA), which rebranded to AdvaMed in 2000 to better reflect its focus on innovation and advocacy for the industry.

Medmarc’s mission is to be the superior provider of liability insurance protection and related risk management solutions to the medical technology industry. AdvaMed has chosen Medmarc as the exclusive provider of insurance, risk management, and loss services for its members.
